Low Fat Pasta & Rice Pilaf Recipe
Ingredients 1 tablespoon olive oil 3/4 cup orzo --or 4 ounces spaghetti --broken into 1-inch pieces 1 cup long-grain white rice 3 cups water 1 teaspoon salt Method 1.In a large saucepan, heat oil over medium heat. Add orzo (or spaghetti) and cook, stirring, until golden, about 3 minutes. Add rice and stir for 1 minute more. 2.Add water and salt and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, cover and simmer until liquid has been absorbed and pasta is tender, 15 to 20 minutes. Fluff with a fork before serving.
